Post tunnel

Approximately 6 km south of Zlaté Hory, you can see a historic tunnel in which gold was actively mined already in the Middle Ages. The post tunnel is a protected monument and symbolizes one of the best-preserved mine shafts in the surroundings of Zlaté Hory. At the same time, it was declared the attraction of the year 2018 in the Olomouc Region.

As part of the tour, you will be able to see valuable remains of historical activity – for example, hand-hewn corridors and chimneys, original wooden pipes, the remains of a mine pump and various tools. The oldest objects date back to 1609. During the route, you will also come across an underground lake, which was created by water dripping onto the ground over a period of several decades. And the most interesting element is the blue allophane decoration.

The whole tour will take you approximately 2 hours and you need to book it in advance.
